THE ANLAYTE G2 FOR THE BEST OF BOTH
The evolution of laser ablation solid – sampling driven by shorter wavelengths and pulse lengths. The 193 nm exci mer is absorbed more readily in most materials than even 213 nm YAG, as seen below in the case of quartz.
Shorter wavelengths produce smaller particles on average that are transported to the torch and ionized more efficiently, resulting in less fractionation effects and better data.
Heat, another source of fractionation, is trans ferred to the sample via direct conduction or the plasma shield that forms on the surface under certain conditions. Shorter pulse lengths yield less heat.
The G2 utilizes the best of both, the shortest pulse length 193nm excimer laser for the best accuracy and precision, without the expense and cost of ownership of a UV femtosecond laser.

BRILLIANT IMAGING
The high magnification, zoom video micro scope coupled with a custom – made large diameter, high N.A. objective lens assembly, resolves inclusions, contaminants and micro – features down to 2um in size. Ring, reflected and transmitted lighting with rotating polarizer and removable analyzer plus software controlled camera parameters including gain, contrast and other functions bring out the fine s t of sample features.

MATCHED WITH PRECISION ABLATIONS
The G2 laser beam is equipped like no other with the tools to cover a broad range of applications from the more challenging such as inclusions, zircons, semi – conductor wafers, rutile rims and otoliths to the most delicate filters, powders and tissues. The G2 is a comfort to those who need a cutting – edge system that will serve their immed iate and future needs and those of others. Such versatility and useable life is engineered into the G2.
MICRO AND BULK ANALY SIS with the widest range of spot sizes as seen in this array of 2.5 µm θ spots within a 250 µm θ spot.

3-STEP ELEMENTAL MAPPING
|
| |
| |
» STEP TARGET
The first step to realizing the power of the G2 for elemental mapping is through visualization of the sample.
|
WITH HIGH POWER IMAGING OPTICS:
The G2′s high performance, video microscope (optional microscope head available) gives the user the ability to lock in on micro – features quickly. This is supplemented w ith SOFTWARE features for navigating and ENHANCING including
|
WITH SEM IMAGE OVERLAY:
Photon Machines Chromium software allows the user to import SEM and images of the sample taken on other instrumentation. Click on two micro – features on the live sample image then click on the corresponding features on the SEM and the SEM now becomes your navigation map.
|
 |
| |
WITH A SCANNED IMAGE OF THE SAMPLE DRAWER:
Scan the sample holder then use it as your map to tour the sample entire sample chamber fast.
|
 |
| |
WITH SAMPLE MAPPING:
Create sample “mosaic” maps fast at any magnification.

2-VOLUME, DUAL-FLOW design regulates the helium flow within the inner cell and the flow into the large capacity outer cell indepen – dently separate mass flow controllers. The analyte is “compressed” and entrained faster than mono flow 2 – volume cells where helium into the lar ger volume is also the carrier gas. See below. The speed of the HELEX gives the G2 the spatial resolution advantage when elemental mapping and depth profiling.

» STEP ANALYZE
Photon Machines software is compatible with IOLITE software. Data generated on the Analyte. G2 is streamed into IOLITE and reduced to 3D elemental maps as shown below in the example below.
