THE ANALYTE.193 ULTRA-SHORT PULSE EXCIMER LASER ABLATION for ICP-MS and noble gas mass spectrometry
The ANALYTE.193 is the product of more than a decade of innovative LA-ICP-MS instrumentation design and development. It is a new generation of solid-sample introduction instrumentation that captures the latest advancements in 193nm excimer lasers, excimer beam delivery, imaging and motion control. Powered by the ATL Ex300si ultra-short pulse length (< 4 ns) excimer laser the ANALYTE.193 is a fully integrated system with gas plumbing and cylinders contained in a sealed gas cabinet. The ANALYTE.193 consists of hardware, electronics and software that are field-proven. The Analyte.193 is configured to provide unmatched utility and functionality, seamless connectivity with your mass spectrometer and greater control over the ablation process and particle entrainment for higher accuracy and precision.
PERFORMANCE
Conventional, excimer lasers with long 20+ns pulse lengths add heat when ablating many opaque materials, especially metallic minerals. The Analyte.193 is compatible with a full complement of materials.
Its < 4 ns pulse length and 193 nm wavelength is unsurpassed in coupling efficiency, with the possible exception of UV femtosecond lasers, resulting in sub-micron particles that ionization readily with less fractionation.
Using proprietary beam shaping and homogenization technology the Analyte.193 ablates clean, flat craters of repeatable shape and size on a wide variety of opaque and transparent materials, from powders to quartz to carbonates.
Surplus irradiance, unique lasing methods and 32 spot selections including circles, squares and lines make the Analyte193 a highly versatile instrument with unique capabilities, ideal for both micro-feature and bulk analysis.
The microscope and video imaging optics of the Analyte.193 offer distinct advantages including enhanced image contrast, clarity and accurate colors that reveal mineral types. Ease of focusing provides for more consistent, repeatable results.
100% co-linear viewing and lasing i.e. perpendicular to the sample. There are no off-axis components.
Achromatic performance (matching focal planes) ensures that the laser focus matches the laser focus.
The Analyte.193 has 100 X 100 mm travel stages, open-architecture and a long working distance (distance between the output of the laser and the sample) to accommodate large format, specialized sample chambers.
The Analyte.193 is uniquely suited for a sub-200 nm femtosecond laser upgrade.
VALUE
The reliability and affordability of the A193 in combination with its deep UV 193nm wavelength, ultra-short pulse length, flat beam profile and surplus energy output make it the preferred choice over YAG based systems, including solid-state 193nm YAG, and the best value (price-performance) of any excimer based system.
